Good afternoon! This is Devante with Waterfront Refresh reaching out to share how we are wrapping up our 2026 shoreline and landscape season, and things we are excited about for 2027 already heading into our 5th season! Everything we do is made possible by getting to work with awesome people like you who are just as passionate about investing in time outdoors with family and friends like we are, so thank you for taking the time to work with us and learn more about what we are up to! Fall and Winter Services

This fall we are working on shorelines and landscape right up to the frost starts, then this late fall and winter we are switching over to handling permits, land and brush clearing, and failing waterfront structure demo and removal (think old sea walls, old piers, etc.). These are all great services to carry out during the colder months while the ground is firm! Reach out if you have any questions or interest in these services for the fall and winter!

We will be primarily back to work on shorelines by March 2027, and bidding, permitting, and planning for next year starts now! (Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb). These months are great because permits are usually processed faster and you don’t have to worry about starting in the middle of the summer when you actually want to enjoy your property!

Summary of 2026:

This year we grew heavily in our shoreline restoration, waterfront access, erosion control, and landscape services, and we fully removed boat care and lake weed removal. We did this so we could focus more on what we believe we offer best, which is waterfront and outdoor restoration projects. Waterfront Steps and Custom Dock landings were a customer favorite, and as far as we know we are one of the only companies in the area that offers custom stone or wood dock landings!

Environmental Expansion - This year we took serious strides toward growing our environmental services, aimed towards better erosion control and bank stabilization. We did this by using a combination of riprap, coir, and plants that we believe can be a better solution to failing shorelines across the state. Our largest project using this method also helped us become added as a WI DNR Referral Contractor in 2026, which is something we never expected to happen but definitely think is awesome. New for 2027

In all honesty, we don’t plan on adding a ton of services in 2027. We just plan on getting better and serving more people. Waterfront Restoration, Erosion Control, Recreational and Outdoor Services are our main focus. We do plan to decrease our service area from state-wide to primarily serving a 90 minute radius from the St. Croix Valley, as we had a blast getting to help customers further away but want to make sure our Western WI and Eastern MN customers are getting the absolute best service we can provide. One new service: Natural Stone Work and Boulder Walls - We spent a good amount of time learning more about proper boulder wall construction in 2026, meeting with and learning from some of the best retaining wall engineers and companies in the area in 2026. So if you’re interested in upgrading your failing slopes to boulder walls using fieldstone, limestone cubes, trap rock, or more please contact us and we would love to get you an estimate.

Key Shoreline Regulation Update

One important note for customers inquiring about Riprap projects: The WI DNR updated their riprap exemption checklist in 2026 to include needing to meet a storm-wave height of 1.0 or greater or an Erosion Intensity (EI) score of 48 or greater. Lastly, we also gained a new referral partner this year, Mossy Oak Properties - Mississippi Valley Real Estate, as their vision matched ours for helping property owners invest in their outdoor spaces!

Final thoughts for 2026  and 2027 from the Owner

You know what we really want to do above all else? More than just grow to be a bigger company and get fancier equipment? We just want to offer great service, care for our customers, and be different. In a world where most companies look at customers as a number or price tag, dont pick up the phone, and stop helping when you cant help them, we want to be different, and we want to be excellent. 

We believe that Waterfront Refresh is here to make a real change by offering real solutions to waterfront, outdoor, or recreational spaces. Those spaces being ones that can impact a family possibly for life. It is truly an investment we don’t take lightly to be a part of. Thanks for being part of this journey, and can't wait to take you along with us in 2027.
